howdy, y’all!

I'm Janna, mama to three, wife to Scott, letterstrator and graphic artist. I work part-time as a senior designer + artist for The Happy Planner™.  I've spent the last 20+ years working in the craft industry, sharing my love of creating, designing products and projects and teaching workshops to local and national audiences. I've had the wonderful reward of seeing my designs come to life on planners, stationery, gift bags, brands, books, apparel and so much more. Here’s a sampling of projects I’ve created over the last few years.

Growing from those roots that reach deep into the craft industry, there’s always been an evolving story of books, print media, catalogs and publishing in my life. I discovered a whole new world of books in college where I studied fine printing and took bookmaking classes. I’ve had the opportunity to visit and study with renowned contemporary book artists and letterpress printers across the country. From handcrafting one of a kind books with the most primitive of tools to formatting a manuscript for digital printing, it's all a labor of love. I enjoy freelancing for Typewriter Creative Co., DaySpring and Abound Publishing.

Outside of these gigs and mommin' like a mother – in my off-time, I love piddling with our garden and I continually stretch my creative muscles as an aspiring artist in a variety of disciplines.
